Edina Stumbles
to Excelsior
Edina Legion lost 6-3 to league-leading Excelsior, falling to 5-4 in South Hennepin play for the year.
Post 471 took an early 3-0 lead and looked to be in control with senior Sammy Wikoff on the mound. Excelsior chipped
away, tieing the game in the 4th and eventually taking the lead in the 5th. Sloppy pitching and poor defense doomed
Edina.
Edina takes the weekend off from tournament play for the 4th of July holiday. They return to action
with a non-conference game at Braemar on Sunday against Mound. Game time is 7:00.
Next week, Edina has two
more South Hennepin games (Tuesday vs St. Louis Park, Wednesday at Eden Prairie) before hosting the Gopher Classic July 10-12
at Braemar.
